this blind-contour portrait body of work started in 2020 and has continued in the background of everything else i’ve been working on for most of the ensuing years…

at the beginning of the motherhood project in 2022, i thought maybe i’d make portraits of mothers who were mothering the way i imagined i’d like to mother … if i ever got to be a mother. patsy was at the start of those images. she was her whole entire unabashed singer self … outside of mothering. she left a legacy we can all hear in our ears …

the 8” x 10” painting is 100% archival: gold and india inks on 100% cotton 140lb. watercolor paper, mounted on a cradled wood panel, sealed with wax medium for water resistance and easy cleaning. it can hang as is, or you can purchase a floater frame to amp up the formality.

all purchased artwork will hang at city o’ city in denver through the end of august, 2024. it will be delivered to new forever homes in the month of september.
